Insurance and protection

Our philosophy with every client is the same: protect the downside first, then build. If one unexpected event could undo years of progress, it gets covered before anything else gets optimised.

Which of these do I actually need?

Start with what you are protecting. If people depend on your pay cheque, life insurance and disability cover come first. If your household runs on one income, disability cover is usually the most urgent of all, because a long illness is far more likely than an early death. Critical illness insurance fits when a lump sum during treatment would keep your plans and your savings intact. We run your numbers and tell you plainly what each policy is for, what it pays and what it costs, then you decide.

Common questions about cover

How much insurance do I actually need?

It depends on what would happen to the people and payments that depend on you. We work from your debts, income, family and existing cover rather than from a generic rule of thumb, then recommend the smallest amount that closes the real gaps.

Is the insurance I get through work enough?

Group cover is a good start, but it usually ends or shrinks when you change jobs and is rarely tailored to your actual numbers. We check what your group plan really pays, then fill the gaps with cover you own personally.

What is the difference between disability and critical illness cover?

Disability insurance replaces a portion of your income while you cannot work, and it can pay many times over a long period. Critical illness insurance pays a single lump sum on diagnosis, which you can spend on treatment, time off or anything else.

Does insurance still make sense if I have savings?

Savings are often exactly why people need less cover, not more. The question is whether your savings would last long enough and still be there for the goals they were meant for. We do the arithmetic with you.
